A couple of weeks ago now I had the pleasure of taking Mike through a 3 hour casting lesson. Mike had come all the way from Pembroke for a 6pm start.
It was a beautiful evening with just a few gnats biting my ankles. Mike had a good cast already but wanted to learn double hauling to get the most from his trout and sewin fishing from his west Wales streams. I explained that he would get a great benefit by being able to deal with the wind and casting heavier bigger flies more easily.
After getting his loops tighter, we went through the timing of the haul which Mike picked up quickly. We where then able to get his hauling more and more effective with a few tweeks here and there.
Good work Mike, hope you’ve been practising.
